Story

On June 14th, Duncan Roy and Gus Barton set off and attempt to break the 2 man record for an unsupported row around mainland Britain. This 2000nm journey will take them through some of the most challenging navigational ocean passages. They will row 2 hours on 2 hours off non stop, day and night and will face a huge array of obstacles, from sleep deprivation to salt sores. Gus believes though, that these challenges pale into insignificance compared to those that face the daily struggles associated with mental health. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ As a great school and uni mate of Pete's, the Crocombe family are honoured that Gus has joined us in continuing to take the fight to mental health by raising funds for Sport in Mind and in loving memory of Paul Crocombe. Gus (like Pete and Paul) has pursued a career in sport and passionately believes in the benefits of exercise and the positive influence it can have on your mental health. Even more relevant in these uncertain times, the funds raised will go towards incredible projects, helping those to overcome mental illness through the power of sport. Your donations are so very much appreciated. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ For more information about Paul Crocombe's story, see the other pages on this website under 'Donations' and the run Pete did for his beloved Dad. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ For a little video, copy and paste this link into your browser too: https://bit.ly/beabitmorepaul ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ For updates on the row, follow Gus @oceanready on Instagram.
