1957 - 2020

This page is a tribute to Paul - an amazing dad, husband, brother, friend and teacher.

An inspiration to so many, we have been overwhelmed by the letters, cards, flowers, posts and prayers sent our way.

As a family, we're doing all we can to channel the tragedy of his death and turn it into something positive (in true Paul style!). We want his legacy to live on and in doing so, have found a charity which really encapsulates what Dad/Paul was all about.

On the Donations page, you will find more information about 'Sport in Mind' and how you can be a part of his legacy too.

Peter. I found out only today of your lovely dad passing, and my thoughts are with you all very much. You don't know me but I was boarding at Slieve Moor the day you were born! You brought laughter and happiness into the house and your dad was one incredibly proud man. I hold many special memories both on and off the sports field. We used to listen out intently with our ears to the carpet upstairs for your folks nightly Coranation Street fix (no TV for us in those days) and will never forget being told rather firmly at the age of eight "2 sheets for no.1's and 4 sheets for no.2's girls!" Your Dad's smile is etched in my memory and I shall always be grateful for his positivity, encouragement and praise up on the athletics track. I belive I bore my own children now of my sporting ventures at St. Anslems. They really were my happiest years in both education and sport for which I'll be forever grateful to Mr C. RIP Mr Crocombe / Sir and please send a very big hug to your mum. Stay strong Peter and family, your Dad was a very special man.

Dear Peter I have only just found out this terrible news and I cannot begin to say how terribly sorry I am to hear it. "Sir" (as he will always be lovingly referred to in my mind) was a true gem and has undoubtedly shaped my life, any many others. People as joyful, kind, compassionate and innately good as your dad are rare. I count myself very, very lucky to have had Midi and Sir as our house parents at S. Anselm's and to have had the chance to meet someone as special as your dad. I knew you when you were tiny and I haven't seen you for years, but I do know that your wonderful Dad would be so incredibly proud of you and all that you are doing now. Please send my love and deepest condolences to your mum and to Rachel and Rosie and best of luck with the fantastic work that you are doing in the name of a great, unique and inspirational man. Kindest regards, India Bacon xx
