Peter. I found out only today of your lovely dad passing, and my thoughts are with you all very much. You don't know me but I was boarding at Slieve Moor the day you were born! You brought laughter and happiness into the house and your dad was one incredibly proud man. I hold many special memories both on and off the sports field. We used to listen out intently with our ears to the carpet upstairs for your folks nightly Coranation Street fix (no TV for us in those days) and will never forget being told rather firmly at the age of eight "2 sheets for no.1's and 4 sheets for no.2's girls!" Your Dad's smile is etched in my memory and I shall always be grateful for his positivity, encouragement and praise up on the athletics track. I belive I bore my own children now of my sporting ventures at St. Anslems. They really were my happiest years in both education and sport for which I'll be forever grateful to Mr C. RIP Mr Crocombe / Sir and please send a very big hug to your mum. Stay strong Peter and family, your Dad was a very special man.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I was listening to a play we did in school in 1980 - The Witness by Carol & Jimmy Owens - and I thought of Paul C as we called him during the time he was with us for a year in St Peter’s High School, Panchgani, India. We were in junior college (year 11 & 12) then I have many fond memories of your dad during that period. He was full of fun and faith and amazing at football. Even though he was one of the masters at school, he would mix with us senior boys and God used him to touch our lives. His entry in my autograph book from 1980 said ‘remember that our Lord Jesus has been and will always be better company’. I’ve been in Melbourne these past 33 years with my family, serving and following the Lord Jesus these past 20 years. Your dad was right - Jesus is the best company one could have. I pray for His peace and strength to comfort you and the whole family. God bless, Lino (lino.dcosta@gmail.com)

So sorry to hear about this. I only found out today. Such a friendly and kind man and definitely one of the best teachers I have ever had. Hard to believe he was our class teacher 12 years ago now yet even up to this year we have talked about him often and reminisced about his stories that he told during our time at the Croft. I started giving blood as soon as I was able to entirely due to remembering his support for that and just today we were thinking of his zigzagging advice for escaping bulls. He is missed by so many people. All our love to the Crocombe family and we hope that the run was a success. Xx
